When my family moved from Haiti to the U.S., we went from being financially stable to starting from scratch in an entirely new system—one that required credit history, bank approvals, and financial credentials we simply didn't have.
Our community's rotating savings tradition was our lifeline. It helped us secure an apartment, afford everyday essentials, and begin rebuilding our lives without relying on traditional financial institutions. No credit checks. No complicated requirements. Just community and trust.
That experience shaped my belief that financial systems should work for the people—not the other way around.
So I created nestr to make this powerful savings method more accessible, secure, and scalable, so more people can experience the financial freedom my family did.
